Draymond stays quiet on Cuban

-

DENVER — Whatever Draymond Green thinks, he usually speaks. So it only seemed natural Green would have plenty to say after Mavericks owner Mark Cuban criticized him to ESPN about Green’s recent call to stop using the word “owner,” arguing “to be owned by someone just sets a bad precedent to start.”

“For him to try to turn it into something it’s not is wrong,” Cuban told ESPN. “He owes the NBA an apology. I think he does, because to try to create some connotation that owning equity in a company that you busted your ass for is the equivalent of ownership in terms of people, that’s just wrong. That’s just wrong in every which way.” Green was given the opportunity to express why he felt he was right following morning shootaround in preparation for the Warriors’ game against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. Instead, he just changed the subject.

“The altitude here is tough. It’s a tough place to play,” Green said. “I’m looking forward toward playing against Gary (Harris) and his new contract. (Nikola) Jokic, looking forward to tonight. Anything else about the Nuggets?”
