2 teens die in S.I. road horror
A TEENAGE driver and younger passenger died in a gruesome Staten Island wreck Monday night, after they crashed into a parked car and slammed into a construction site.
Daniel Castellano, 19, was heading north on Richmond Ave. behind the wheel of a 2009 Ford Fusion at about 8 p.m., when he hit a parked car near Signs Road in Bulls Head, cops said. He then crashed into a pole and through a wall at a construction site.
Castellano and passenger, Sebastian Serrano, 17, both of Staten Island, were taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where they died.
The owner of nearby Oriental Plaza, said firefighters desperately worked to save the pair. “They tried to cut open the car, they tried to pull them out,” said the man, who gave his name as John, 55.
