AFFLECK: I’LL GIVE UP CASH

- Peter Sblendorio

AFTER MAKING millions off movies connected to disgraced filmmaker Harvey Weinstein, Ben Affleck is ready to give back. The actor — who recently said he wants to be "part of the solution" to the sexual misconduct scandals plaguing Hollywood — vowed to donate any checks he receives stemming from one of his movies produced by Weinstein to charity. “Any further residuals that I get from a Miramax or a Weinstein movie will go either to F.I. or to RAINN,” Affleck told Washington, D.C.’s Fox affiliate. “One is Film Independent, and the other is a women’s organization.” Affleck, 45, says his decision to make the donations came after filmmaker Kevin Smith made the same promise regarding his residuals involving Weinstein productions. “I just didn't want to cash any more checks from the guy, you know?” Affleck told the TV station. Affleck recently apologized for apparently grabbing the breast of “TRL” host Hilarie Burton during a 2003 appearance on the show.
