Ratner rape accuser can’t ‘get thru day’

-

THE WOMAN who claims Hollywood filmmaker Brett Ratner raped her over a decade ago says she came forward because she “can’t get through the day” without being reminded of the alleged attack.

“The only reason I’m here is because I want other women to tell their stories,” Melanie Kohler said in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, which aired on “Good Morning America” Monday.

“The time is now. And there’s a safe place to tell them.”

Kohler — who says Ratner assaulted her 12 years ago after they met at a Los Angeles club — says she didn’t come forward sooner because she didn’t think anyone would help her.

She made the accusation against Ratner in a Facebook post last month, but says she deleted the post after Ratner’s lawyer threatened to sue for defamation.

Ratner’s legal team has since filed suit over the allegations, calling her claims “false and malicious.” But Kohler is standing by her story.

“I can’t get through the day without being reminded of it,” she told ABC. “I have so much respect for these women who are coming forward.”

Six other women, including actress Olivia Munn, have accused Ratner of sexual misconduct in a Los Angeles Times report. Ratner’s team has “vehemently” denied all allegations.
