Leg washes up near FDR Drive

- Thomas Tracy

COPS ARE investigating a grisly discovery in the East Village — part of a man’s leg washed up Thursday on the rocks near the FDR Drive, cops said.

The body part — which extends from the knee down — was found against the rocks near E. Ninth St. at about 11:30 a.m., officials said.

It was not immediately disclosed if a foot was attached to the extremity, which was brought to the city Medical Examiner’s office. Further tests will be done to try to determine who the leg belonged to and how it became separated from the person’s body.

No other body parts were discovered in the area.

In July, body parts found floating in the Hudson River were identified as belonging to New Jersey resident Jennifer Londono. Cops arrested her boyfriend, Raphael Lolos, 40, in her murder, police said.
