‘Rape’ officer att’y: Teen’s story wrong

- Christina Carrega

A LAWYER FOR one of the two exBrooklyn cops accused of raping a handcuffed teenager is casting doubts on the young woman’s story, saying her timeline of the alleged attack is “virtually impossible.”

Defense lawyer Mark Bederow, in court papers demanding detailed evidence from prosecutors, argued the 18-year-old’s version of events could not have unspooled in the nine minutes between her cell phone calls that night.

The questionable timeline — along with other conflicting statements and the fact that the woman and two of her friends could not pick his client out of a lineup — “demolishes” the allegations, Bederow wrote.

The court papers are the first look into the defense’s attempt to discredit the teen who says former detectives Richard Hall (photo right) and Eddie Martins (photo left) sexually attacked her after pulling her over on the road while she was driving with friends and taking her into custody on Sept. 15.

The cops face a 50-count indictment that could land them in prison for 25 years each.

Bederow questioned accounts that had the purported attack happening in a parking lot and another while the van was moving along a four-mile route. The ex-cops say the sex with the teen was consensual.
