A one-man crime wave in Bx. nabe

- Adam Shrier and John Annese

A SERIAL purse snatcher has been targeting women in a Bronx neighborhood over the past month, stealing thousands of dollars.

The thief’s spree spans a roughly 10-block area in Norwood, and started on Oct. 4, when he grabbed a purse from a 32-yearold woman as she walked along E. 201st St. at Bainbridge Ave., cops said.

Since then, he’s struck seven more times, and has become more violent, cops said. In three incidents, he threw or pushed his victim to the ground, causing minor injuries, police said.

Cops first released photos and videos of the robber last month, after he pushed a 48-year-old woman to the ground and took her purse on Oct. 21.

That robbery, which happened at Grand Concourse and E. 201st St., netted the thief $1,300 in jewelry, an iPhone and house keys.

Police have been linking muggings to him since, and this week, they released a video of the crook sneaking up behind his Oct. 21 victim and, moments later, running away with what looks like a purse in his hands.

He targeted his most recent victim at about 5:55 a.m. Monday morning, when he grabbed a 64-year-old woman’s bag at Valentine Ave. and E. 204th St., cops said.

Anyone with information about the suspect can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
