IT’S HIS CROSS TO BEAR

-

When it comes to sex scandals, who better than Jesus to be compared to?

According to the brother of Alabama’s accused pedophile pol Roy Moore (above), his brother is being persecuted “like Jesus was.”

Really? Did we all miss the part about Jesus dying for pedophilia or was it that Jesus died for our sins — not His own?

Hey, when in doubt, it’s always handy to compare a creepy candidate with your Savior.

But it’s Alabama after all, where there’s no lack of bile Bible Belters ready to defend Moore, the accused pedophile candidate for U.S. Senate.

Take wacko Alabama State Auditor Jim Ziegler, who used Jesus’ “father,” Joseph, to defend pedophilia in general and Moore in particular.

He told The Washington Examiner, “Take Joseph and Mary. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became parents of Jesus. There’s just nothing immoral or illegal here. Maybe just a little bit unusual.”

This is so offensive on so many levels it’s tough to know where to start — other than with a lobotomy on this clown.

His statement that child molestation is not immoral, IS immoral in and of itself.

As for his Joseph and Mary parentage story, according to all versions, Joseph was NOT the father of Jesus.

If you believe the Biblical version, Mary had been impregnated by the Holy Spirit.

If you believe the historicalphilosophical version, Mary was impregnated by a Roman soldier named Tiberius Pantera.

But no matter whose version you believe, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone with the possible exception of this loon who would in effect claim that Joseph had committed statutory rape upon the child Mary, impregnating her.

Maybe it’s not unusual, as Ziegler claims, for grown men to molest little girls in Alabama. But nevertheless it IS illegal. The Age of Consent there is 16, not 14. The age of dumb? That has no limit.
