Marking historic Haiti battle
The Battle of Vertières — which marked indigenous army of St. Dominge’s decisive 1803 defeat of colonial French forces in Haiti — will be commemorated Thursday with an art exhibition, lecture and reception at the Brooklyn College Library, 2900 Bedford Ave.

The exhibit of works of nine Haitian artists, who will be present at the display, runs through Nov. 27 and can be seen Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
After the art show, Prof. Pierre Buteau, president of the Haiti Society of History and Geography in Haiti, will present “The National and International Dimensions of the Haitian Revolution,” from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
To RSVP for Thursday’s affair, send email to hsi@broo klyn.cuny.edu. Call (718) 951-5000, ext. 3482 for information.
