TRAGEDY FOR NINER WR

Niners receiver Marquise Goodwin sprinted into the end zone for an 83-yard touchdown reception against the Giants on Sunday. And his heart was broken. Just hours earlier, Goodwin, 26, and his wife Morgan had lost a baby due to complications of the pregnancy.

“Unfortunately we lost our baby boy due to some complications, and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4am,” Goodwin posted on Instagram after the game. “Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan. The pain (physically, mentally and emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable. Please Pray for the Goodwin family.”

Goodwin’s post explains why he was so emotional on the sideline after the score. Goodwin had his head down for a long while as coaches and players were walking over to speak with him.

It turns out they were consoling a heartbroken man.
