His S.I. OD leads right to his wife’s

A WOMAN whose husband overdosed in their Staten Island home was so worried responding cops would find their stash of heroin that she snorted it — and then overdosed as well.

Scott Bevard, 44, and his wife, Lori Gallo-Bevard, 40, nearly died in their Oakwood Heights house Saturday, during a weekend of overdoses on Staten Island that killed two people and hospitalized five more.

The couple was saved by quick-thinking medics.

“He was talking, and he just stopped in mid-sentence. I came out of the bedroom and he was OD’d on the couch,” Gallo-Bevard (photo) told the Daily News.

Gallo-Bevard called cops but was afraid of getting busted. She was unaware of a state law that protects 911callers reporting an OD.

“I found the stuff he used. I hid it because I was afraid of the cops,” she said.

The worried wife ran to the bathroom and flushed most of the stash, sources said. But she snorted the remainder, and promptly passed out. Police and medics used naloxone to revive her as well as her husband.
