Amid storm, coach says he’ll

The Giants owners threw Ben McAdoo a life jacket on Monday, assuring him he will finish the season as head coach, but there was no time to express gratitude aboard this sinking ship. Instead, McAdoo said his focus was elsewhere and did not provide much reaction to ownership’s statement while on his Monday conference call.

“I’m in the process of finishing up grading film on the last ball game and starting the next one. That’s where my focus is,” McAdoo said. “We’re going to find a way to get the team better, coach the team better and put us in position to get our first home win of the year.”

It’s full steam ahead for McAdoo, but the Giants are not going to get any wins — home or away — if they continue to play like they did the previous two games.

Sunday’ 31-21 loss to the previously 0-9 San Francisco 49ers was the second straight game in which there were major holes in the secondary, this time allowing a 47-yard and 83-yard touchdown.
