Man held in Coney killing of girl

- BY JOHN ANNESE

A BROOKLYN man faces murder charges for fatally shooting his teenage neighbor in the hallway of her apartment building, police said.

Jean Pierre Pacheco, 25, surrendered Tuesday, one week after cops say he killed Alyssa Rodriguez, 17, and wounded her boyfriend on the fourth floor of their Coney Island building. Pacheco was accompanied by a lawyer, cops said.

Police believe Pacheco argued with the couple over a romantic rivalry, though in an interview with NBC News 4 last week Alyssa’s mom denied reports that the shooter was her daughter’s ex.

Alyssa and her boyfriend, Armani McLeod, 20, knocked on Pacheco’s door in the Site 8 Houses on W. 35th St. minutes before the shooting at 4:15 a.m. on Nov. 7, police sources said.

One neighbor told the Daily News that Alyssa stepped out of her apartment, found McLeod and Pacheco arguing, and told them to calm down.

“(McLeod) said somebody took his money,” a neighbor told The News. The woman heard McLeod banging on Pacheco’s door again and then gunshots, she told The News last week.

McLeod who was hit in the arm, tried to revive Alyssa, who died at Coney Island Hospital.
