A memo to HQ

New York Daily News - - EDITORIAL -

Dearest Kremlin comrades, Herewith, a status update on the progress of operation Make Russia Great Again. The election of our useful idiot is paying dividends. After a recent conversation with President Putin, President Trump told the world that “He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did.” An invaluable propaganda victory. But storm clouds are darkening over the Urals: The Americans, through the press, special counsel Robert Mueller and even the Congress, continue to expose what they deem our “interference.”

The more the public learns about what we got away with — nyet, what we are falsely accused of doing — the more our future influence may diminish.

Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said “Da!” to finally remembering a key meeting with George Papadopoulos, the young man who was going to introduce Trump to Putin.

And Don Trump Jr. keeps spilling the borscht. Just as the revelation of his meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya revealed one act of attempted collusion, news of his October communications with WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange draws more scrutiny.

Fortunately, Comrade Trump is distracting the public by directing his Justice Department to investigate Hillary Clinton. Just what we need to cloud the Stoli. Dosvidanya!
