Tears of relief

Chiropractor cleared in bias frameup went through hell

- BY ESHA RAY and THOMAS TRACY

A STATEN ISLAND chiropractor falsely accused of sending racist letters to a school crossing guard broke down in tears as charges against her were dismissed and her supposed victim was arrested for framing her.

“My client was accused of some horrible, horrible acts,” Danielle Serini’s attorney, Mark Fonte, said outside Staten Island Criminal Court on Thursday. “She has now been vindicated.”

The charges against Serini were dropped a day after unhinged crossing guard Jennifer Becker was arrested for allegedly sending anti-black letters to several people in Serini’s name.

“My next opportunity will be getting rid of you and that ugly ass n----r child of the crossing guard,” one sick screed read. “Keep thinking he’s safe in school, but when the opportunity hits, it will with a bang. N----rs don’t belong in my neighborhood.” Both Serini and Becker (photo) are white. Becker has a black child.

Fonte said Serini “was crying” when she heard that charges were dismissed.

She was arrested three times, had to close down her chiropractic office and move out of state because of the frameup, according to her lawyer.

“It was a terrible hardship for her,” Fonte said. Serini was unable to attend Thursday’s court appearance in person.

Police said Becker, 44, sent the hate-filled missives to herself, her supervisor, NYPD Officer Ebony Glover, the 120th Precinct, school administrators and a handful of other people.

Some of the letters came with photos of apes, mutilated black children and the Ku Klux Klan, according to court documents. “Black lives don’t matter,” she wrote in a letter on Aug. 3. “Kill this n----r piece by piece and feed it to the NYPD.” Becker is also accused of sending a nasty note to another crossing guard she believed was Muslim, cops said. “Trump better deport your stupid ass for taking our American money,” she wrote. Nearly all the letters were signed in Serini’s handwriting — a signature Becker managed to copy and paste from a mortgage document she got her hands on, prosecutors said. Believing the letters came from Serini, cops charged her with harassment in June 2016, police said. Cops also arrested Serini for violating an order of protection barring her from being near Becker — even though her son attended the school where Becker worked. Once the frameup was exposed, cops charged Becker with making sworn false statements, falsely reporting an incident, endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with evidence and stalking.

A judge ordered Becker’s release from jail Thursday, as long as she stays away from Serini and undergoes a mandatory mental health screening.

Dressed in a black “New York” sweatshirt and sweat pants, Becker refused to speak to reporters as she raced out of court.

Fonte hopes Becker what’s coming to her.

“The Staten Island in me wants her prosecuted to the fullest extent,” Fonte said. “Of course the Christian in me understands that Ms. Becker has some severe mental issues that need to be addressed. I hope she gets the help she needs." gets
