Lena: Gal made up rape story
LIBERAL actress Lena Dunham, who recently tweeted that rape is something women don’t lie about, on Friday accused an actress of doing exactly that — fabricating a claim of rape by a writer and producer who worked on Dunham’s hit HBO show “Girls.”
Actress Aurora Perrineau, who starred in “The Passengers,” went to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Friday with allegations that Murray Miller raped her in 2012 when she was 17, according to The Wrap.
But Dunham, a self-proclaimed feminist, issued a statement with “Girls” showrunner Jenni Konner defending Miller (pictured) and lumping Perrineau with “the 3 percent of assault cases that are misreported every year.”
Dunham and Konner said, they had “insider knowledge” that made them confident in supporting him — and dismissing Perrineau. Dunham added that it was a shame to see a false report “as women outside of Hollywood still struggle to be believed” — apparently missing the irony that some women inside Hollywood do as well.
