On Dec. 8, Janis will host a reception at Art Miami to meet her daughter’s fans and talk about Amy’s struggle as well as the foundation’s objectives. Janis has been very candid about Amy’s life and death and published a book in 2014 called “Loving Amy: A Mother’s Story.” In it, Janis writes about the heartbreak Amy’s battle with the bottle caused her.

Miami was somewhat of a second home to the British singer. In 2003, at the age of 19, Winehouse recorded songs from her album “Frank” in the Magic City. She returned to lay down tracks for her 2006 smash hit “Back to Black.” Miami was also where Winehouse married in 2007. “Darkest Hour” actor doesn’t know what Winston Churchill would have thought about America’s current president, nor is he going to guess. “I’m not that dumb to bite on that question,” the 48-year-old said on the red carpet of the Paris Theater premiere of the film about Churchill. “I’d have to be, like, in the first couple of years of doing this — and eager.” As Churchill himself said: “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; it’s also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
