IS DIS DA FAKE DA VINCI?

-

Did some rich-asYeezus yutz just pay $450 million for a fake da Vinci Jesus? Maybe.

A few Renaissanceart experts believe the bazillion-bucks “Salvator Mundi” (“Savior of the World”) — which was sold by Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev, who bought Trump’s Palm Beach mansion for $95 million — isn’t a genuine Leonardo.

In 1958, Christie’s rival Sotheby’s sold the painting as a genuine Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio (who?) for 45 British pounds, or about $1,250 in today’s money.

But hey, what mogul wouldn’t want a genuine Boltraffio hanging over the fireplace?

Not the British royal family, who had so little regard for the painting that they owned it twice and lost it twice.

As recently as 2005, the painting sold for just $10,000. Authentic? Hmmm. Bloomberg News posted a 1904 photo of the painting, and curiously, Jesus seems to not only be sporting a Village People 1970s ’stache, but doesn’t look stoned or have Jay Leno’s chin.

Bottom line? You’d have to be crazy to pay 450 million big ones for a painting that isn’t even on velvet.
