Main course bargains for many people

SOME PEOPLE like Thanksgiving dessert, while others just want to treat themselves.

Many stores are happy to accommodate holiday shoppers and get the scoop on their competitors. Here’s a list of stores that are open on Thanksgiving:

Apple — The Fifth Ave. store in Manhattan opened at midnight and will close at 10 p.m. Other area stores will close.

Banana Republic — Some locations are closed, but most others have sporadic hours; check with your local store.

Best Buy — Doors are open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Gap — Many Gap stores are open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., check your specific store for variations.

J.C. Penney — Stores are open from 2 p.m. Thanksgiving until 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

Kmart — Opens from 7 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., or into the next morning, depending on the location.

Kohl’s — Most stores will be open from 5 p.m. and into Black Friday.
