- John Annese

A GUNMAN faces murder charges for killing a drug rival and shooting the man’s girlfriend in a Brooklyn apartment, police sources said Wednesday.

Durante Tirado, 20, showed up, gun in hand, at the 16th-floor apartment of 38-year-old Kahliq Francis on Pennsylvania Ave. by Seaview Ave. in Starrett City just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.

He shot Francis in the head and opened fire on Chaleen Mason, 32, but she survived the fusillade, sources said. After Tirado left, she staggered to a friend’s 12th-floor apartment and called 911 on the way, sources said.

Medics took Francis and Mason to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition, where Francis died of his wounds Wednesday.

Police found Tirado nearby a short time after the shooting and figured out where he’d stashed the murder weapon, cop sources said. He admitted to the shooting, sources said. Tirado, who lives in a neighboring Starrett City apartment building, is slated to be arraigned in Brooklyn criminal court Thursday on murder, attempted murder and weapon-possession charges. COPS HAVE caught the hammer-wielding vandal who bashed two Brooklyn mosques earlier this month.

Mou Hu, 37, was arrested Wednesday morning, after he vandalized a car at 61st St. and Eighth Ave. in Sunset Park, cops said.

He was quickly linked to two mosque-smashing incidents Nov. 11. Investigators tagged him as a suspect after a relative recognized him from video released to the media, sources said.

Hu is accused of destroying the windows and cameras at Beit el-Maqdis Islamic Center on Sixth Ave. near 63rd St., and the front doorbell, door knob and mailbox of the Fatih Camii Mosque on Eighth Ave. at 60th St. He’s charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime, cops said.
