Seth Meyers signs on as ‘Globes’ host

-

AND THE 2018 Golden Globe host job goes to ... Seth Meyers.

The “Late Night” host was named Thursday as the emcee of the 75th annual award show by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

“With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year,” the organization’s president, Meher Tatna said.

This is the first time Meyers, 43, will host the Golden Globes. The show was hosted by fellow latenight host and “SNL” alum Jimmy Fallon last year.

This January’s show will be the ninth in a row to have a host. British comic Ricky Gervais spearheaded four of the last eight shows, while Tina Fey and Amy Poehler headlined three in that span.

It was first reported earlier this week that Meyers was in talks to take over the gig.

The 2018 Golden Globes takes place on Jan. 7 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
