THIS WAS A CRIME
EPA; GETTY A hunter near Buffalo killed a woman when he mistook her for a deer. How clueless do you have to be to mistake a twolegged woman walking her dogs for a deer? You’d have to be totally clueless — not to mention a lawbreaker to boot. Was this just a terrible accident? No. When hunter Thomas Jadlowski shot and killed Rosemary Billquist, he happened to be hunting 40 minutes after sunset, which is 40 minutes worth of not-quite legal. Manslaughter is possible when one person kills another during the committal of even a minor criminal act. Jadlowski was committing if not a criminal act then a notlegal act which turned into a major tragedy. Manslaughter might not be the right charge but Billquist (photo) and her grieving family deserve justice.
