GIANT DROUGHT

- BY JOHN HEALY

Big Blue has not scored at least 30 points in a game since McAdoo was named coach

Four more players have landed on the injured reserve, the Giants announced on Monday, bringing the season total to 19.

Offensive lineman D.J. Fluker (toe), cornerback Donte Deayon (forearm), and linebackers Curtis Grant (knee) and Deontae Skinner (hamstring) are the latest to be sidelined and will miss the remainder of the season.

The Giants also added linebacker Jeremy Cash, who played in nine games with the Panthers dating back to last season before most recently being cut from the Jets’ practice squad.

Fluker, a six-year veteran who was brought in for depth, had been making strides while filling in at right guard for six games before injuring his toe in a 12-9 overtime win over the Chiefs on Nov. 19. The injury kept him from playing in the Thanksgiving matchup against Washington.

Head coach Ben McAdoo said the day after the Giants’ 20-10 loss to Washington that Deayon and Grant were likely done for the season.

Deayon was signed off the practice squad Oct. 12 and gave the Giants depth at cornerback while Grant had played in 10 games and had 13 tackles and a fumble recovery after being signed off the practice squad in September.

Skinner had only played in three games since being signed off the Raiders’ practice squad.

On Sunday, ESPN reported that Giants corner Janoris Jenkins could have season-ending surgery on his ankle after injuring it on an interception returned for a touchdown Thursday night.

The Giants have not made any announcement on Jenkins’ status, but McAdoo said on Friday that the veteran corner was “in some pain” and added that it could be a long-term injury.

HIP-HIP RAY-RAY: The Giants also signed linebacker RayRay Armstrong off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.

Armstrong, who entered the league in 2013 as an undrafted free agent, played in 10 games this season and was second on the team in tackles with 53. He also had a sack, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
