Cyclist, 84, dies after hit
AN ELDERLY bicyclist who collided with a senior driver in Queens has died of his injuries, police said Wednesday.
Yau-Teg Fung, 84, was pedaling down Alderton St. near Fleet St. in Rego Park at 2:40 p.m. on Nov. 17 when he hit a Toyota Camry driven by an 80-year-old woman, cops said.
Fung was thrown from his bike and was found by police sprawled out on the street, with a massive head injury.
Medics rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he died of his injuries on Monday — 10 days after he was admitted, cops said.
Members of the NYPD collision investigation squad said that the motorist stopped at a stop sign on Fleet St. and was nosing into the intersection when Fung, who was traveling north along Alderton St. struck her vehicle.
No criminal charges have been filed, cops said.
