PAYS FOR JOAKIM TO JOIN G-UNIT

-

At least for the day, Joakim Noah was a very well-paid GLeague player. Noah was sent to the Westchester Knicks for their matinee game Wednesday, finishing with nine points, five rebounds and four assists in a double-digit defeat.

Noah was then called back up to the New York Knicks but was inactive against the Heat. Apparently this was all Noah’s idea because he wanted some real basketball action.

“We’ve talked since last year with guys just put it out there if you want some minutes, you want some run and you’re not getting time here, go to Westchester,” Hornacek said. “We’re at the stage of the season where we’re not able to practice a whole lot. It’s either the day before a game or the day after the game. So it’s very difficult to have hard practices for guys who don’t get a lot of time.”

Since G-League salaries fall in the range of $19,500 to $26,000, Noah earned roughly 880 times more than most of his teammates Wednesday. He also has totaled three NBA minutes this season.
