Multimillion bail deal for Manafort
FORMER TRUMP campaign chairman Paul Manafort appears to have reached a bail agreement that could end the house arrest he’s been under for the past month, court papers filed Thursday show.
Lawyers for Manafort say in court papers they’ve reached a deal with prosecutors from special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, which is looking into Russian meddling in the presidential election.
The documents filed reference an “agreed-upon bail package with the Office of Special Counsel” that includes four properties owned by the longtime Republican strategist.
The proposal, which needs to be approved by a federal judge, also includes the redacted names of two people who Manafort’s lawyers say can back up the bail should the value of the real estate properties fall below $10 million.
Politico reported they were Manafort’s wife and daughter.
