Pedestrian­s are killed in Qns., uptown

TWO pedestrian­s were killed when they were struck by cars and a third was critically injured during a series of collisions across the city early Sunday.

A 71-year-old man was killed by a driver in Queens as he crossed the Belt Parkway near Farmers Blvd. in Springfiel­d Gardens just before 4 a.m., cops said.

Medics rushed the man to Jamaica Hospital, where he died.

The driver remained on the scene, sources said.

Hours later, a 31-year-old man was crushed by a tow truck while walking on the Henry Hudson Parkway, police said.

The victim was walking north in the southbound lanes of the parkway near W. 107th St. on the Upper West Side when the truck struck him around 8:30 a.m., according to authoritie­s.

The man died at the scene, and the truck driver remain at the crash site.

Earlier Sunday, a 29-yearold man was critically hurt when he was struck by a car while trying to cross First Ave. near E. 82nd St. on the Upper East Side around 2 a.m., authoritie­s said.

The victim was walking against the traffic signal and outside the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle driving with a green light, sources said.

Medics rushed the man to New York-Presbyteri­an Hospital Weill Cornell with severe head trauma, according to officials.

No criminalit­y is suspected in any of the incidents.
