‘Cold, malicious’ slashing of gal

A 47-YEAR-OLD woman randomly slashed on a Harlem street corner while talking to a friend suspects her attacker is no stranger to violence.

“The way he cut me, he’s cut someone else before,” Venetia Dingwall told the Daily News Monday.

“He didn’t turn around to see if I fell, to see how badly he cut me, or anything. He did it with a cold, malicious heart.”

The unprovoked attack happened at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at W. 125th St. and Lenox Ave.

By Monday afternoon, Dingwall still had a hard time believing what happened.

“I was more in shock,” she said, taking a break inside her apartment, where she was cooking chicken for her nephew.

“It kind of threw me off. I didn’t say anything. I didn’t fall down or anything. I just stood there.”

Doctors at Harlem Hospital needed 13 stitches to close the wound on her right ear lobe. She also has a cut across her right cheek (photo below).

A mother of two college kids, Dingwall was heading home from Queens, where she works as a home care attendant. She got off the M60 bus and bumped into a teen girl she knows. While they were talking, two men approached and tried to hug her from behind — and at first, the friend thought Dingwall knew the men and that they were playing around. They weren’t. After the slashing, Dingwall managed to break free, and both men ran off in different directions.

“When I felt him pressing against my face, I started to remove myself from their arms and that’s when I started feeling the blood,” she recalled.

The suspects wore hoodies. Dingwall said one was wearing a red, white and blue jacket and the other a red jacket with black pants.

“They’ve got mothers and I just hope that nobody would do the same thing to their mothers,” Dingwall said. “I hope they do catch them. They deserve jail time.”
