Sex accuser takes a legal swing at Don

- BY STEPHEN REX BROWN

LAWYERS FOR a former “Apprentice” contestant who accused President Trump of groping her in 2007 said they are willing to accommodate the commander-in-chief’s frequent golf outings as they pursue a defamation suit against him.

Mariann Wang, an attorney for Summer Zervos, said Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court that she would work with the court and Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz.

“We can certainly ensure that we take a deposition down at Mar-a-Largo in between his playing golf,” Wang said.

The jab came during arguments over whether Trump must respond to Zervos’ lawsuit while he serves in the Oval Office. Zervos, 43, attended the hearing but did not comment beyond thanking Wang and her other attorney, Gloria Allred.

Kasowitz argued that Trump’s status as commander-in-chief is “unique” and that he is not obliged to respond to lawsuits filed in state court. The case, he said, should be frozen until Trump leaves office.

“The state court can’t direct any control over the President in any circumstances,” Kasowitz said.

He said he could point to no case backing up his argument, including the Supreme Court’s ruling on Bill Clinton vs. Monica Lewinsky. In that landmark decision, the court ruled Clinton had to respond to civil litigation filed in federal court while President. But Kasowitz argued the justices left open whether the decision applied to state court. Wang wasn’t buying it. “This court does have the power to hear this case,” Wang said.

Zervos (top), who appeared on the fifth season of “The Apprentice,” sued Trump in January, three days before he was sworn in as President. She alleged he smeared her as a liar on the campaign trail after she went public with allegations he “kissed her on the mouth repeatedly” without consent and groped her during meetings in Beverly Hills in 2007.
