THE QUEENS man who struck and killed his buddy during a hit-and-run outside a hookah bar said he blacked out during the incident and said much of the night was a boozy blur.

“I’m so sorry about what happened,” said Adrian Harry, 22, who, according to cops, was behind the wheel of a Hyundai sedan which jumped a curb at Liberty Ave. and 129th St. in South Ozone Park Sunday morning. Police say he plowed into a crowd of people that included his friend, who was killed.

“Actually, I don’t remember anything,” Harry said Wednesday during an interview at the Vernon C. Bain Center in the Bronx, also known as the jail barge.

Harry claimed that a stranger with a knife approached him in the bathroom of XS NYC, a bar the near the scene of the crash. Using his belt as a weapon, Harry said he took the knife from the man and gave it to a bouncer.

Harry said that he doesn’t remember what happened once he left the bar. He didn’t deny crashing the car, and killing his friend, Richardo Chattergoon, 23.

“I’m so sorry,” Harry said. “I wish I could turn back time. I wish I could rewind that night and just stay in with my girl.”

Harry said his girlfriend is three months pregnant, and he was planning to propose this month. He said he was in the process of picking out a ring.

Harry said he doesn’t drink often, but he couldn’t remember how many beers or drinks he had that night. He said he goes out once a month, and went out with Chattergoon to celebrate the arrival of Chattergoon’s uncle to the U.S. from Guyana, their shared home country.

“He was like a brother to me,” Harry said about his friend who died.

He said they liked to listen to music together.

The two men lived blocks apart in Far Rockaway, Queens, and became friends after Chattergoon arrived in the U.S. about a year ago.

Cops said Harry told them he didn’t know his friend, who rode to the bar with him, was in the crowd.

Cops handcuffed Harry when he showed up at Jamaica Hospital — where the surviving victims had all been taken — for treatment of cuts on his hand. Police said he stabbed two people in the bar before leaving to get his car.

“The first thing I remember was waking up in the hospital,” Harry said.

The driver was charged with murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He was ordered held without bail.

Police also arrested a second man, Vernal McLean, who was suspected of bashing in Harry’s car window, apparently after he saw his two friends get stabbed, authorities said.

The injured included a 29-year-old Brooklyn man who was stabbed and run over. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition. The others hit by the car were three men and a woman, all in their 20s. They suffered an assortment of head, leg and pelvis injuries.

A video of the mayhem, obtained exclusively by the Daily News, shows the Sonata flying onto the sidewalk. About five seconds later, a silver Nissan SUV can be seen doing a U-turn on Liberty Ave. and tearing onto the sidewalk behind the Sonata, in apparent pursuit of the first car.
