Open contempt for safety

Eviscerating sane gun-safety laws in New York and elsewhere, the U.S. House just approved a bill making all concealed-carry permits work across state lines — and had the gross gall to attach it to a measure fixing a broken background check system. This is how a Congress that has done nothing since a maniac killed 20 first-graders in Newtown marks the coming fifth anniversary of that massacre.
