Watchdog has drug rap nixed
A FORMER good government group leader’s misdemeanor drug charge was tossed Friday.
Two months after Dick Dadey was arrested on criminal possession of a controlled substance the case was dismissed in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
Dadey, 59, long served as Citizens Union’s executive director.
He completed a drug rehabilitation program prior to his Friday court appearance, according to a law enforcement source.
Police say they found ketamine, crystal meth and ecstasy in Dadey’s Brooklyn home in September. Dadey took a leave of absence from his job that month.
He has since been replaced by Betsy Gotbaum, the former city public advocate.
