Fentanyl, Xanax fatal to Lil Peep
LIL PEEP, the up-and-coming rapper who was found dead before a show last month, died from an accidental overdose of Fentanyl and Xanax, according to a toxicology released on Friday.
Lil Peep — whose real name was Gustav Ahr — was found unconscious on his tour bus before a gig in Tucson, Ariz., on Nov. 15. It was widely suspected that the 21-year-old rapper died from an overdose.
The Long Islander (photo) also tested positive for marijuana, cocaine, Tramadol and a number of other powerful prescription opiates, according to the toxicology report, which was issued by the Pima County Medical Examiner and obtained by the Daily News. No alcohol was detected in his system.
Lil Peep made a name for himself as one of the pioneers of “cloud rap,” a genre dominated by ambient beats and emotional lyrics about tough topics such as drug abuse and suicide.
