Trump adviser Hicks in hot seat
HOPE HICKS, one of President Trump’s most trusted advisers, was reportedly questioned by investigators from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office for two days straight.
Hicks, the 29-year-old White House communications director who’s frequently by the President’s side, was interviewed by Mueller’s team Thursday and Friday, The New York Times reported.
Mueller isn’t the only one interested in Hicks — sources told the paper she was warned by the FBI that Russian government operatives repeatedly tried to reach her during the presidential transition.
The paper reported that counterintelligence officers from the bureau sat down with Hicks at the White House at least twice after Trump’s inauguration and gave her the names of Russians who had contacted her and urged her to be cautious. The officers also informed Hicks that the Russians might use fake names, the paper reported.
