Todd Bowled over after quick presser

-

Apparently nothing pleases Todd Bowles more than abbreviated press conferences. The typically emotionless Jets coach let out a gleeful scream Friday afternoon in Florham Park when his daily meeting with reporters ended after just one minute, 53 seconds.

“Nice, new record!” Bowles yelled, channeling his inner Mario Kart. “YES!”

Bowles brought his fists into his body in exclamation before leaving the stage. He continued to laugh while walking down the hallway of the facility. As he strolled through the door at the end of the hallway, Bowles hop-stepped and fist-pumped from low to high, belting out “TIGER WOODS PUMP” as he did so.

The Jets left for Denver on Friday for a matchup with the Broncos at Mile High Stadium on Sunday. Bowles was probably in a chipper mood because the Broncos are 3-9 and riding an eight-game losing streak.

Anderson tweaked his hamstring in Thursday’s practice and was officially listed as limited that day. He leads the Jets in receiving yards (821) and touchdowns (seven) this season.

“He was full today and looked good, so that’s all we can go by,” Bowles said Friday of Anderson.

Running back Matt Forte (knee) and right guard Brian Winters (ankle, abdomen) are both questionable and will be game-time decisions Sunday, as they’ve been for the past two games.

Linebacker and special teamer Bruce Carter (groin) has been ruled out. Linebacker Obum Gwachum will take over Carter’s special teams duties, according to Bowles.

Linebacker and defensive signal-caller Demario Davis was excused from practice Friday. He will not travel with the team to Denver but is expected to play, Bowles said.

The Broncos, meanwhile, are dealing with injuries — and one illness — on both the offensive and defensive lines. Starting right guard Ronald Leary (back) will miss his second straight game Sunday, and nose tackle Domata Peko (knee) is questionable after not practicing Wednesday or Thursday. Defensive end Adam Gotsis (flu) is questionable, as well.
