Cops don’t see humor in Lange tweet

- Rich Schapiro

COMEDIAN Artie Lange fired off an apparently light-hearted tweet that turned into no laughing matter when New Jersey cops showed up at his house.

The bizarre incident was set in motion late Friday when Lange, 50, posted a selfie on Twitter that showed him with what appeared to be a badly swollen nose.

“Hey I got a quick message for u Ang,” Howard Stern’s former sidekick tweeted. “U ain’t the man. U run for the man. I fear nothing.”

Hoboken cops arrived at Lange’s home after receiving a call from someone concerned about the crass comic. Lange (pictured) told the responding officers that he was fine, reported NJ Advance Media.

“Everything isn’t funny as the Great Hoboken Police just explained to me,” Lange tweeted shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday. “I’m so sorry I made those guys deal with unimportant crap. I’m fine. In a related issue how do u delete a tweet?”
