Mystery death of B’klyn infant
COPS ARE investigating the mysterious death of a 1-monthold baby girl in Brooklyn.
First responders raced to Livonia Ave. near New Lots Ave. in East New York after little Unique Fernandes was found unconscious in her crib by her panicked mother about 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Medics took the baby to Brookdale University Hospital, where she died.
The mother told police she had placed the child in her crib for a nap and when she returned a short time later, the infant wasn’t breathing.
Unique didn’t have visible injuries and the family has no history of abuse, police sources said.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine what caused Unique’s death.
