The screenwriter who penned “I, Tonya” thinks his film about will cause people to rethink the 1994 incident when pro-Harding goons ambushed her Olympic rival “I don’t think (the press) was particularly fair to her back then, scribe told us at the film’s premiere East Village premiere. “It was the first time there was a 24-hour news cycle and it had to be fed and it was very experimental back then and I think it was the first time people cared less about being accurate and just did it to fill it.”
