FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX THE LOCKER ROOM

The Giants’ next coach inherits a roster that includes several players who quit on the field this season, some who ripped McAdoo anonymousl­y to the media, and players who drew suspension­s for insubordin­ation. He also steps into a locker room where little was done about any of it in this 2-10 season.

That means a hard look at the roster and tough decisions about which players are high-character leaders who should stay and which others may benefit from a change of scenery, not to mention which injury-prone players are high risks.

Cornerback Eli Apple comes to mind as a player who needs to prove he can handle this level while there are expensive veterans such as Janoris Jenkins and Olivier Vernon whose guaranteed money is up and were valuable in 2016, but Jenkins’ effort was an issue this season and Vernon has struggled to stay healthy. Jason Pierre-Paul, in year two of his extension, needs to play way better and stay healthier, too.
