U.S. is golden for Games trip: Haley

THE UNITED STATES will send its full contingent of athletes to the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley said Sunday.

Haley said there would be no change in American participation after saying last week it was an “open question” whether athletes would be able to go because of rising tensions with North Korea.

On “Fox News Sunday,” she said “the full U.S. Olympic team” would go.

“We’re doing in this Olympics what we’ve done in every single Olympics. If you look back, we have always talked about security in the Olympics. We’ve always talked about keeping our athletes safe,” she said.

The games are set to kick off Feb. 9 in Pyeongchang, about 50 miles from the demilitarized zone that separates the North and South.
