Newtown liar loses job battle

JURORS IN West Palm Beach, Fla., on Monday ruled against a professor who claimed he was fired from Florida Atlantic University last year in retaliation for blog posts that claimed the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax.

James Tracy, who was a tenured professor at the Boca Raton-based university, said the school violated his First Amendment right to free speech when it axed him in 2016.

The communications professor — who taught a class on conspiracy theories — claimed in multiple posts that the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., was staged by the government to impose tougher gun laws.

He also feuded with the parents of 6-year-old Noah Pozner — one of 26 people killed in the 2012 slaughter.

School officials said Tracy was fired because he violated rules regarding the reporting of outside work.

Tracy filed the suit seeking to be reinstated with back pay and other unspecified damages. But jurors, after deliberating for three hours, unanimously ruled against him.

Tracy, 52, declined comment. One of his lawyers called reporters “presstitutes” and yelled “fake news” as he left the courthouse.
