J’ouvert slay suspect gets 5 yrs. in gun rap
ONE OF the men charged with the fatal 2015 shooting of a high-ranking aide to Gov. Cuomo was sentenced Monday to five years in prison on an unrelated gun charge.
Stanley Elianor got the maximum sentence in Brooklyn Federal Court for bringing a loaded handgun into a hospital where he was being treated three years ago.
Elianor was out on bail on that weapons charge when he was arrested in connection to Carey Gabay’s death from a stray bullet during gang crossfire at J’ouvert celebrations in 2015.

Elianor’s federal case started when he was treated at Kings County Hospital in October 2014 for a car accident. Prosecutors said Elianor was carrying a backpack with a derringer inside.
Judge Ann Donnelly said bringing a loaded gun to an emergency room was “about as brazen as you can get.”
