Mira’s tears after Harvey ruined her

- Peter Sblendorio

MIRA SORVINO was “heartsick” after learning director Peter Jackson said disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein’s company urged him not to cast her in a movie.

Sorvino — one of dozens of women who accuse Weinstein of sexual abuse — tweeted Friday that Jackson’s claims confirmed her fears Weinstein interfered with her career.

“Just seeing this after I awoke, I burst out crying,” Sorvino wrote. “There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure. Thank you Peter Jackson for being honest. I’m just heartsick.”

Jackson, who worked with Weinstein on “The Lord of the Rings,” said in an interview in 1998 Weinstein’s company, Miramax, trashed Sorvino and actress Ashley Judd when both were up for a role.

Judd has also accused Weinstein of making unwanted sexual advances.

“I recall Miramax telling us they were a nightmare to work with and we should avoid them at all costs,” Jackson told Stuff.com. A Weinstein spokeswoman denied Jackson’s allegations in a statement Friday.
