The love triangle talk was nothing but “outrageous allegations and scuttlebutt,” said Emery.
Prosecutors recommended Lenich receive a sentence of eight to 14 months for abusing her position with the illegal wiretaps for more than a year. She returns to court in February. A BROOKLYN man called workers in a bodega who wouldn’t sell him a beer “f---ing Arabs, Muslims and terrorists” before he returned and shot an 80-year-old clerk to death, prosecutors said Friday.
Mark Thomas was enraged that employees at the 797 Deli on Stanley Ave. at Ashford St. in East New York wouldn’t let him have a $2 beer for $1.50 when he unleashed the hateful tirade Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Thomas, a frequent customer, returned to the store about three hours later and let loose a barrage of 11 bullets, killing elderly clerk Abdel Yafaee, cops said.
It turns out, Yafaee wasn’t even in the store during the initial argument over the beer, sources told the Daily News.
Thomas, 41, is charged with second-degree murder and weapon possession.
He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday and was ordered held without bail.
Prosecutors noted that Thomas has a lengthy arrest record.
He has served prison time for robbery and weapons possession, according to state records.
