Scandal judge quits

- Terence Cullen

A FEDERAL appeals judge hit by sexual misconduct allegations against former staffers has decided to retire.

Judge Alex Kozinski said Monday he is quitting after 35 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in Washington.

“It grieves me to learn that I caused any of my clerks to feel uncomfortable; this was never my intent,” he said in a statement issued to The Washington Post.

At least 15 women have accused the 67-year-old judge of sexual misconduct while working with him.

At least four women said Kozinski improperly touched them, tried to kiss them or groped their breasts.
