12 years for sick kid-sex music teach
THE FOUNDER of a Queens music school was sentenced to nearly a dozen years in prison Tuesday for trying to buy sex from girls as young as 8.
Oliver Sohngen, who worked at the Long Island City Academy of Music, had sexual contact with two girls, ages 15 and 17 years old, and attempted to arrange sex with three others, aged 8, 11 and 13.
The 52-year-old married father of two (photo) was caught after a pimp began cooperating with authorities.
The feds said the pervert had sex with kids as far back as March 2013. He communicated with an undercover NYPD cop posing as a 15-year-old as recently as January 2016.
He used the aliases “Helmuth Moss” and “Stephan Weierbach,” authorities said.
“Oliver Sohngen, a teacher at a music school for children, was a sexual predator,” acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney Joon Kim said.
“His significant sentence will ensure that he is no longer a threat to our community, in particular, our children.”
The city Department of Education’s contract with Sohngen’s seven-year-old academy was canceled in May.
Sohngen’s attorney did not return a message seeking comment.
