Nab in slay of preg gal pal

AN ARGUMENT between a man and his pregnant girlfriend ended in horror Thursday on Staten Island when he shot her to death, police said.

Keith Jackson, 43, (top) was charged with murder and illegal weapons possession after Bridget Shenk, 35, (bottom) was found dead just after midnight in her second-floor apartment on Trantor Place near Walker St. in Port Richmond.

Neighbors called 911 after hearing shouting and the gunshot. “It was loud,” a 57-year-old neighbor said. “We knew what was. The cops rushed right in there.”

The victim’s mother, Dorothy McLeod, told PIX11 News that her daughter had dreamed of having a child, but her boyfriend did not want one. “She always wanted a child. He didn’t want a child,” McLeod said. “When they found out she was pregnant, she was so excited. I went with her on Monday to the doctor.”

Shenk, who was about three months pregnant, was shot in the chest in the hallway and collapsed in her apartment.

Cops had been called three previous times to the home for arguments, sources said.

The neighbor said there was “no reason” for him to kill Shenk. “I hate him now,” she said. “He needs to be away for life.” it
