2018 Hyundai Elantra GT
Hatchbacks appear to be hot again, or, at least, hotter than they once were. Naturally, hyundai wants to take advantage of renewed interest in these affordable, practical, and efficient vehicles, and so it has redesigned the Elantra GT for the 2018 model year.
as has been true for years, the Elantra GT is based on a European model called the i30. For 2018, it sits on a more robust architecture, gains a more powerful engine option, and features ride and handling characteristics honed on the rigorous Nurburgring Nordschleife racing course in Germany.
Two versions, the GT and GT Sport, are available. The latter is the one to buy if you enjoy driving.
Powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a base Elantra GT costs $20,235 after an destination charge when mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, though a 6-speed automatic gearbox can be swapped in for an extra $1,000. meanwhile, the performanceoriented Elantra GT Sport, which is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI engine, runs $24,135 when paired with a 6-speed manual or $25,235 when equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
