Hunt for 3 in teen slay
COPS ARE asking for the public’s help tracking down three young men wanted for fatally shooting a 19-yearold man who volunteered with the Police Athletic League in Brooklyn.
The NYPD released surveillance video Tuesday showing the teen suspects (photo) jogging from the scene after the killing of Tahrim Applewhite on Gates Ave. near Tompkins Ave., a block from his home.
Bullets struck Applewhite in his right arm and stomach just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he died.
“Why God, why?” his heartbroken mom wailed Friday. “That guy who killed my son is going to die. If I catch him it’s over for his life.” Applewhite was a mentor with PAL.
He also had an arrest history, including busts for grand larceny and pot possession, sources said.
