It’s a dark day at Disneyland
THE HAPPIEST place on Earth was also one of the darkest Wednesday, when a massive power outage struck Disneyland.
The lights were out in the Anaheim, Calif., theme park’s Toontown and Fantasyland sections, and about a dozen rides were affected, Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown said.
A transformer problem caused the outage, the spokeswoman said, adding that people were being escorted off rides.
Social media users began posting about the outage around 11 a.m., and photos showed people waiting in long lines at the park.
“All of Toontown and parts of Fantasyland are affected by the outage,” Twitter user Sarah Mansoor wrote.
The power was eventually restored in those areas, Brown said.
By the late afternoon, the problem that caused the miniblackout was resolved.
